Vacation!!!!

I'm leaving Friday afternoon for vacation.  I'll be gone for two weeks but  I may find time to pop in from my mom's house.  I won't be back home until 8/22 though.   For those of you that don't know... Matt, sis and myself are going to Wy/SD to visit family and to go to the Sturgis motorcycle rally.  I'll be around still tomorrow but not likely on Friday.  I will be able to pick up my email from mom's and I will probably be setting up yahoo IM for her so if you see me on there its not someone stealing my account ;)

I hope to be blogging some but not exlusively on my regular blog but also on my scooterchick.net blog.  So if you are interested in any of my rally related adventures you can catch up with me there.

Hope to return with scads of piccies to share!

Kerry was in town today. Guess they were afraid there weren't going to be enough bodies to impress the cameras, so the unions PAID union members to attend the rally. I guess this is the Democrats answer to unemployment.

oh. good one. zing! i should rethink my vote now.

And what does the Kerry rally have to do with the original post? Or are we just trying to sneak in some political rhetoric?

hmmm...paid them extra beyond what they were paying them to work?

Many people who work downtown went to see the rally...and many businesses paid them while doing so. It's called Employee Satisfaction. When they returned to work, they were happier, and worked harder than if they had been kept from participating. (That's the general philosophy at least.)

When Bush/Cheney speak downtown they do the same thing.

What's going to happen after the election? Regardless of who wins, Ima be mighty bored without all this controversy.

Keery was in town? I had no idea. Damn... I really am out of touch. I wanted to see his hair for myself.

After the election, whoever doesn't win will bitch and moan about what whoever did win is doing to this country.

Political Controversy never ends. That's what makes America great.

i still think my idea of having a reality tv show Who Wants to Be the Next President would be a better way of determining the transition of power.

then we would actually be able to see how the candidates would respond to simulated presidential duties and demands.

as it is, it's just a cock and feathers show. the current campaign-election process is no more informative than a dance-off or a hot dog eating contest.

by the way, i think gw would win the hot dog eating contest. and the dance-off would be a tie.

HBO is doing something like that for 2008...

    a presidential dance-off?

    or a reality series?

    either one, i'm down for.

Showtime is doing one right now. The American Candidate or something.
The winner doesn't get to be President, nor do they get to run for President (which was the original prize back when the idea was being formulated). I think they get 1 hour or something on TV to state their views.

Chrissy Gephardt (Dick's Daughter) is the best known person participating.

i hate it when people steal my ideas.

and also when they get the groundwork and funding to get those ideas off the ground.

Showtime. I was close. They started casting for it back in 2000, I tried to get a friend of mine to audition.

I'm also having a pinging issue -- when I ping (and I use firefox) I have to log in, ping, go to the main page, log in again, and ping again.

Before the outage, I never had to re-login from the computers I use most often. I don't think I entered a password for months. Now I have to login everytime before I can ping. Maybe its a different symptom of the same issue?

Ever since that "mostly dead" incident, I have to log out then log back in every time I want to ping. Is this happening to anyone else, or just me?
